Blues and Golds

In a tradition that stretches back to 19th Century Oxford and Cambridge, Sydney Uni Sport and Fitness recognises outstanding performance in sport through the award of University Blues. The Blue is the highest sporting honour at the University of Sydney - it is harder to get a Blue than an Honours degree! Once a year, the Blues Committee meets to consider Blue nominations from all Sydney Uni sporting clubs. The first Fencing Blues were awarded in 1947, only two years after the founding of the club.

Sydney Uni Sport and Fitness also awards University Golds, in recognition of outstanding services by individuals to a constituent club or to Sydney University Sport, over a minimum of 7 years.
